But then — why would the witches agree?

To them, a human could hardly be more valuable than a wizard. Or did they need a human, specifically? Was there some ritual or spell that only worked with a human female? Even if so, could they not simply buy one? Have one delivered, discreetly, for money? Yu had no idea how witches conducted their business, but trading a wizard for a mere human just seemed like a really bad deal. If someone walked up to him and said, You can either be the director of this human habitat, or have one wizard who does whatever you want for the rest of your life

Yu stopped that thought. For one, he was digressing. And for the other, he would, actually, choose the human habitat. Not for the humans, of course, but for the lifestyle. Yu would very much prefer to live at an estate, doing absolutely nothing, than have nowhere to live and some random wizard follow him around, basically doing the nothing with him.

If he were a witch, though, he would choose a wizard over any random human.

        Unless.

            Unless she was not random.

Unless it had to be her.

                How was this female special?

Yu had noticed that she looked unusually tairan,
with her fair skin and orange hair, but other than  NO!

What if the human was indeed a true human?
Not some mentally deranged blend of human and tairan blood,
but a girl of pure human ancestry?
