BEASTKIN OF THE FOREST

LIFE

CLINGERS TO THE FOREST

In [B1.C17], the Albweiss Mountain Guild guards address the krynn traveller as both clinger to and wanderer of the forest.

The reason for this has not yet been revealed.

INDIVIDUAL KRYNN

Unnamed [B1.C17] - Samasira companion

Age: Unknown.
Affiliation: Samasira.
First appearance: [B1.C17] Arriving at the Albweiss Mountain Guild with Samasira.

“The wild is in you,” the shaman said. “You are of the old breed. You walk the edge between beast and kin. You hunger for purpose.”   [B1.C17]

TEMPERAMENT

In the standoff between Samasira's party and the Albweiss Mountain Guild guards in [B1.C17], the krynn shows to wear his emotions on his skin. He is quick to react to taunt and threat.
He challenges the shaman on her reading. After she intimidated him, he becomes reluctant to speak to the guild guards. "Yu recognised it, because it was the same fear of sharing secrets that lived in him. And beneath that, he heard something darker still. He heard the same quiet revulsion that he himself felt toward the shaman." [B1.C18]

SHAMANIC READING

"Yes, you are a slave to your hunger.”   [B1.C17]

When reading the krynn's essence, the shaman of the Albweiss Mountain Guild spoke to him in his native language. She said that he carries a burning rage and hunger inside him, and hinted that he killed for pleasure.
▪  "You burn and burn but do not warm, because you eat before you hunger.”
▪  "You said it was fear, But it was pleasure.” — which the krynn denies twice.
▪  "You lie not to deceive, but because you have forgotten what was true. Your will feeds something older than intention."
▪  "You remember easy, the hunger. But you forget even faster, the reason, the pleasure. Know and remember this, clinger to the forest. What is fed learns to demand feeding.”

TRIVIA

▪  The krynn carries no pass for official identification. When introducing himself to the Albweiss Mountain Guild guards, he claims to be born "in these lands" with the right to "roam freely". [B1.C18]
