Book One — Tracking the Rewrite

HAS BEGUN!

Dear Travellers,

Publication of the revised BOOK ONE began on 22 July.

After six months of rewriting, restructuring, and returning to the desert alongside Yves and Midnight, I am so, so exhaustedcited to have finally reached the point where I can begin sharing their new beginning with you.

The graph below was originally posted to chart my progress throughout the hiatus between January and July 2026. As you can see, the overall rewrite is not yet complete. While the revised opening chapters continue to appear, I shall be working steadily on everything that follows.
For the time being, the graphs will therefore remain here and will be updated regularly. They are partly a means of keeping this humble duck motivated, but you are, of course, very welcome to follow the progress of the rewrite and expansion of the first five chapters, leading up to the appearance of the Behemoth.

Returning to BOOK ONE after venturing so, so far into the frozen Albweiss with Yu has been demanding, but also deeply rewarding. I have greatly enjoyed rediscovering these early chapters and shaping them into something that, I hope, offers both returning and new readers a stronger beginning to the journey.

Thank you kindly for your patience throughout the hiatus. I am working hard each day to remain ahead of the regular chapter uploads, and I am very glad to be sharing the story with you once again.
