THE ALBWEISS
& THE FIRST KING
Chapter 1
Faroah, currently grants Oracle in the dwarven temple atop the Varren [a mountain within the Albweiss Mountain range]. He is sought out by Samasira, a young witch, who climbed the mountain with her companions. She explains that she had been sold and bound to a wizard who is about to die soon. If he dies, so will she. She wishes to know how to free herself from this bond and receives oracle from Faroah: It takes a change of heart.
Chapter 2
In Book One, Midnight had traversed the depths of the Albweiss Mountains, where she had turned from a pathera to a Best of Darkness. Now leaving the mountain tunnels, she continues her journey to the Albweiss Mountain Guild. Traversing along the southern face of the Albweiss Mountains, she must learn how to travel the Nowhere Snowtrail in her new darkness form.
After escaping the Shaira, who have held them captive for years within the Albweiss Mountains, wizard Salgier, his avian familiar Sahir, Ahrasik the voltera, and Barbarthara the scorchborn, alongside a golem, are intercepted and defeated by the Haraak ork horde. Amongst the orks are two powerful orichs and Nagrak, the runt.
Before dying, Salgier transcribes a warning about the Shaira’s ambitions and experiments unto one of Midnight’s messenger strings.
Chapter 3
Barbarthara takes root upon Nagrak to have him guide her off the Albweiss mountains. In her withered form, Nagrak – who is quite stupid to begin with – mistakes her for a wizard staff. Furthermore, he believes to feel the sacred [WERISS] and to be chosen by the mountain to start his ork walkabout. Venturing off on his own, he quickly trips over the edge of the path. In his fall, he smashes through the ice ceiling of a cave and gets caught and stuck in a rock crevice, while Barbarthara falls into the cave.
Midnight continues her journey across the Nowhere Snowtrail to the Albweiss Mountain Guild.
Chapter 4
As of now, Yu enjoyed a pampered life at the estate of his shirka Tria, who owns the human habitat amidst the Barnstream settlemens. That is, until she kicks him out and arranges for him to work as a guard for the Albweiss Mountain Guild. To get there, he braves the Nowhere Snowtrail with an escort team of skilled fighters. After travelling the trail for over four weeks, they arrive at the guild.
Chapter 5
Yu takes up his post as the guild’s new Transcender.
He has a mess of a first day. Unfortunately, he is not a wizard, but a wizard-fina bastard, who failed to show any noteworthy skill. He does, however, hear voices that reveal strange truths to him. He hears a witch approaching the guild.
Chapter 6
In the grand cavern, Barbarthara battles and defeats the Weaver King. She then succumbs to poison-induced changes. Nagrak is still trapped.

THE GUILD & THE SECOND QUEEN
PART TWO:
THE GUILD
& THE SECOND QUEEN
Chapter 7
The guards and guests of the Albweiss Mountain guild confront Samasira, the approaching witch, and her party. A fight breaks out, magic and claws clashing, until the dispute is interrupted by the residentual shaman of the guild. After undergoing a shamanic reading, Kel-Khadar and a krynn, as well as two injured companions, are permitted to enter. Meanwhile, Samasira and a Sylvren leave to spend the night on the Nowhere Snowtrail.
Chapter 8
Yu and the guards allow Kel-Khadar and the krynn to enter the guild. First care is provided for the two injured travellers.
Disturbed from teh experiences and revelations on the platform, Yu senses a larger scheme at play. He believes the guild guards, as well as Harrow and several members of her party, are in truth part of a criminal syndicate that has quietly seized control of the guild from within.
Chapter 9
Further care is given to the travellers. Bubs and Deltington operate on Abar’s broken leg, while the shaman and Yu tend to the selder’s sevrants.
With his special senses, Yu hears the shaman speaking to him as the
. Her overwhelming presence disturbs him to the point of collapse and profoundly disrupts his sense of self.
Chapter 10
After hearing the
‘s voice, Yu experiences a growing split in his personality, which also distorts his sense of basic physical needs and limitations. Upholding his old self in the form of the metaphorical mask of a guard, he tries to suppress the disparate halves; “the screaming part that went mad trying to unhear the Queen, and the listening part that would give anything to hear more of her voice”.
While doing so, he serves dinner for the guild guests, as Bubs an Deltington still operate on Abar.
Chapter 11
Desperate beyond his own understanding, Yu seeks out the
in the sick bay. He finds no trace of her in her shaman form; almost none. She tells him to wait until the end of the Witching Hour. Yu obliges, though he does not know what will happen then, between them, or what will remain of him, when it does.
Chapter 12
Yu remains disturbed by his encounter with the
, and by the intensity of his own reaction to her. He tries to understand the split within himself: the contradictory fears and desires rising from his divided persona, and the unnerving realisation that he has begun to do things without remembering that he did them. He describes the wanting that emerged in him with the
as the areole in the Sharran Vey drink: a dangerous thing floating inside him, impossible to remove without breaking the frame that holds it.
Meanwhile, he serves food and drink to several members of Harrow’s party, as well as to the borman and the krynn traveller.
Chapter 13
There is always more cleaning. After finishing in the kitchen, Yu moves on to the upper bathroom. As he struggles with draining the grand basin, his thoughts circle around the human female being tended to in the surgery below. He cannot understand why she is receiving such care and compassion, and begins to suspect darker secrets surrounding her origin — perhaps even something connected to the lineage of the
.
Chapter 14

As he prepares, strange songs drift in from the Albweiss.
