Website Updates for Book Two
Dear Travellers,
there is now only one month left until the release of the rewritten Book One begins โ how exciting! I am working hard every day, both on the story and on the website.
During the rewrite, the opening storyline surrounding Yves and Midnight grew far larger than originally planned. At the same time, Yuโs storyline in the Guild and the Albweiss Mountains also expanded considerably. Because of that, I have decided to split the original two part-structure of Book One into two separate books.
Previously, everything existed as one very large volume approaching nine hundred pages. The rewrite alone added over two hundred pages of entirely new material to the beginning of the story, and Yuโs arc is still continuing to grow. Splitting the story now allows both books to settle into a far more reasonable fantasy length of roughly six hundred pages each.
BOOK ONE
will now focus entirely on Yves and Midnight.
BOOK TWO
will continue with Midnight, introduce Samasira, Nagrak and Barbarthara, and then predominantly feature the Albweiss Mountain Guild storyline.
Structurally, this allows me to set the foundation for the long-term future of The Glass Wizard. I have always hoped to tell multiple interconnected stories within this world โ not only following Yves, but also exploring characters such as Yu and Samasira in their own books, alongside and/or tied to different periods of Yvesโ life. One of the things I have always loved about Discworld was how different protagonists and storylines gradually connected over time. The more you read, the more complete the world and its characters become. That is very much the kind of long-term structure I hope to build here as well.

Because of this restructuring, the website may feel somewhat chaotic over the coming month. I will be removing the first eleven chapters and gradually re-uploading them as the new Book One. Everything from Chapter 12 and onwards will become Book Two. The glossaries and character pages will need to be reorganised accordingly. My hope is to have everything properly structured again in time for the release of the new Book One on the 22nd of July.
