Dear Travellers,
You have reached the current final chapter of BOOK ONE โ
but not the final chapter of The Glass Wizard series.
I am writing this for you on the 22nd of July 2026.
At the time of writing this note, I am in the process of publishing the newly revised version of BOOK ONE. The original version was first published in 2023, and I have now rewritten and expanded it with roughly 200 pages of new material. The next chapter of BOOK ONE should appear in about three or four days, and I will do my best to keep updating it regularly, ideally at least twice a week.
BOOK TWO, however, is largely unaffected by this revision, as it follows the adventures of two new characters who do not yet appear in BOOK ONE. This means that you can continue reading BOOK TWO before the revised first Book is complete.
If you already know BOOK ONE from its original version, then you can continue without concern.
If not, there is only one thing to keep in mind: Chapters Two and Three of BOOK TWO revolve around Midnight. If you would prefer to avoid any possible spoilers for the end of her last mountain adventure, you may wish to wait until BOOK ONE is complete. These chapters do not spoil the details of BOOK ONE, but they do reveal where Midnight stands after her journey.
So, in short:
You are very welcome either to pause here and follow the revised BOOK ONE until it is complete,
or to continue into BOOK TWO and meet the new characters, who are in the center of this second story.
Regarding Midnight, you should know ...
... that she is a pathera beast, and a familiar to wizard Yves. After they had to part ways in the Northlandic Desert, she ventured deep into the underground realms of the Albweiss Mountains, and returned from there as a Beast of Darkness. She has sacrificed her physical existence for an ethereal form of darkness, but has yet to learn what that entails for her life beyond the mountain darkness.
She does not know whether Yves is still alive, but she is set do deliver the last message he gave her to a guild set deep within the Nowhere Snowtrail that leads through the Albweiss.
As you see, you have stumbled upon this narration during a time of tremendous change. I hope this is not too confusing. I will republish BOOK ONE with a steady pace, and then continue with BOOK TWO as well. It will all be back, neatly and chronological.
Thank you kindly for taking this journey โ whether for the first time or the second.
May you venture well across the Albweiss,
The Duckman
